The afternoon editorial meeting today was a series of writing, erasing, and re-writing. We list all the reporters on a dry-erase board, with the story they’ve been assigned to… but today, it was a game of musical reporters.
That’s how it is in television… everything is fluid. Reporters are assigned to stories that sometimes turn out to be nothing before we can even fill them in on where they were headed. Producers, managers, and assignment desk editors keep notebooks listing who does what on which day… and on this day, if you didn’t own a pencil, you were ripping out pages and starting over.
With that said… here are some of the things you can expect to find tonight, Tuesday Oct. 9th at 7pm…
Suicidal Love Song
You’ve heard the song… it’s infectious, a tad annoying, but somehow you know all the words to it. “You’re way tooooo beautiiiifulllll girl…..” it’s the love song that includes the word “suicidal”… and got the meeting singing. Well, the guy behind the mic, Sean Kingston. is from South Florida and he’s coming home to Miami for his latest video shoot.
